Enagement Grants

During the 2023-2024 school year, the Henderson Kentucky Education Foundation, in conjunction with the NextEra Energy Resources Company, the Henderson Breakfast Lions Club, and the Henderson Rotary Club, awarded grants ranging from $250 to $1,000 to classroom teachers for engaging learning projects for students. Twenty-seven grant applications were submitted and $15,000 was awarded between sixteen projects. The projects included funding for art supplies, science manipulatives, additional reading materials, hands-on musical supplies, microscopes for a science department, science project supplies, math manipulatives, phonics manipulatives, early literacy and numeracy programs, and parent engagement activities. The HKEF has applauded the teachers for engaging students in meaningful learning opportunities and reaching out to the Foundation for financial assistance to obtain needed materials and supplies. We’re pleased to be working together with teachers and community partners to award Engagement Grants and make a difference for students!

The Henderson Kentucky Education Foundation is very pleased to partner with NextEra Energy Resources and the Sebree Solar Project to continue our Engagement Grant Program for the 2023-2024 school year. This community partner recently donated $10,000 for the continuation and expansion of this project.  Thanks to our new community partners!

We are currently seeking donations to the Engagement Grants Program in order to fulfill more requests for next school year.  If you or your business would be interested in hearing more about this “Working Together” opportunity to enhance education in Henderson County, please contact patty.sellers@henderson.kyschools.us for additional information.  We welcome all individuals, groups, and businesses to become our community partner in this endeavor.
