During the 2022-2023 school year, the Henderson Kentucky Education Foundation, in conjunction with the Henderson Breakfast Lions Club and the Henderson Rotary Club, awarded grants ranging from $250 to $1,000 to classroom teachers for engaging learning projects for students. Twenty-seven grant applications were submitted and $10,000 was awarded between thirteen projects. The projects included funding for art supplies, science manipulatives, additional reading materials, hands-on history supplies, microscopes for a science department, science project supplies, math manipulatives, phonics manipulatives, early literacy and numeracy programs, and parent engagement activities. The HKEF has applauded the teachers for engaging students in meaningful learning opportunities and reaching out to the Foundation for financial assistance to obtain needed materials and supplies. We’re pleased to be working together with teachers and community partners to award Engagement Grants and make a difference for students!
